About

Megan, an artist in residence at English Bridge Studios in Shrewsbury, is known for her dynamic oil paintings. Working on both board and canvas, she uses vibrant, striking colours and thick textures to create visually impactful art.

Megan’s artistic journey began with academic success, earning an A* in Art and an A in Graphics at college, before going on to study Art History at Bath Spa University.

During her college years, she was selected to exhibit at The Mall Gallery in Trafalgar Square, London—an early highlight of her career. As a member of the Shropshire Art Society, she has shown her work in several local exhibitions.

After leaving a career in finance, Megan is now fully dedicated to life as an artist, where her true passion lies. She has been creating art from a young age, experimenting with a wide range of mediums and techniques. In recent years, she has focused on commissions, producing work in graphite pencil, watercolours, and oils.

In April 2025, Megan exhibited at the National Wedding Show in London, where she showcased her wedding portraiture services. Whether clients are drawn to the romantic softness of pencil or the striking vibrancy of oils, her portraits are crafted to capture the emotion and beauty of the big day with care and elegance.

Megan is currently studying a course in Mental Health in Children and Young People, reflecting her deepening interest in the connection between mental health and creativity. Exploring mental health through therapeutic art has become a key focus of her practice. She is currently developing a new series of paintings that explore how light can influence emotional well-being. Through the use of different tones, intensities and directions of light, she aims to capture how lighting can evoke calm, clarity and emotional resonance. This new body of work will be exhibited at Swan Hill Studios in September 2025.
